Jimmy Sastra

updates on what I do and what inspires me

I'm of Chinese-Indonesian descent. To my great surprise I was born in The Netherlands. After a brief stint in Japan I now reside in the United States in the city of bro love called Philadelphia.

I am currently in the 20th grade studying modular robotics under Professor Mark Yim. My interests include robots, design, photography and the fine arts. An experimentalist at heart I love to learn new

technologies and methods and apply them either as engineer or artist.

About

August 9th, 2008

Jimmy was of Chinese-Indonesian decent. To his great surprise he was born in Holland. His parents however loved to travel and have moved all around the globe dragging him along wherever they went. Jimmy thus had the opportunity to go through the awkward phase of puberty in Japan (making it even more awkward). Currently he resides in the United States and is still in the denial phase of his puberty. Though he vehemently claims he’s not.

At the age of fifteen, the media first took notice of Jimmy’s artistic talent. A modest article was written in his hometown’s local newspaper under the crime section titled ‘Graffiti Artist Arrested’. Although the article was small and the review did not touch upon the meaning or subtle nuances of his art work in as much depth as he would have liked, Jimmy looked at it on the bright side and thought at least it wasn’t a bad review.

He has since learnt other ways of expressing himself.
